I just noticed this amidst all the discussion, and wanted to share my Noise Reduction method:
When I finish recording, before I edit a thing, I save the file as an mp3, bring it into Checker and make adjustments to the file to bring the volume up to 89.5 or thereabouts. After that, I take a noise sample from the Outro silence, and do a noise reduction with settings of 12/6/6/Reduce, which lowers volume just a wee bit throughout. If I still have too much background noise, I take a new sample, and do a second pass using that.. Of course, you have to take a noise sample on your edits before you plug them in, too, but 1 is usually enough.

20:50 - 21:22 and 21:44 - 21:57 and 22:05 - 22:19 volume at 98 exceeds LV limits. Recommend Amplify -6. I notice no loss of intensity of expression in thus treating each of these 3 segments.

12 is PL OK.

PL Notes 14

37:07 a rustle of papers or some such for about a second.

I kept thinking "Algernon lays down thin layer upon thin layer of suspense, much like a 3D printer builds an object. That's talent!"

Nope, it's still the old file.

15 is OK now. You owe me 15 minutes, Mister, and I'm gonna claim it somehow, somewhere, right when you least expect it! Heh heh.

I did really like this story. A bit off his usual ghost and murder theme but anxiety-filled nontheless.

16 is PL OK, and looks like another Ben Tucker solo is going "in the can". I really enjoyed the collection, partly because of the stories and partly because you read them all superlatively! Good job.

I look forward to finding out what's next on your list.

Thanks once again for your DPL work as well!

As far as what's next, I just adding a new one to the launch pad, a rather odd, short collection called The Swine-Gods and Other Visions by Regina Meriam Bloch I had read about in an article on Women of Weird Fiction.
