Mary died of confluent, hemorrhagic (black) smallpox. William's mistress from 1680-1695 was Mary's lady in waiting, Elizabeth Hamilton, Countess of Orkney (1657-1733), a member of the Villiers family, and later married to Mr. Hamilton.

My best,

Pam

Though I can't understand the Schwärmerei associated with the memory one of Althorp's recent inhabitants, I knew you would have remembered that the Earl of Sunderland becomes Lord Spencer? What a family they were.

Whoa, I forgot that! But I knew about the schwärmerei.

Thanks, Barbara!

I’m glad to hear that you are making progress, though sadly still in isolation.

But what does whinge mean?
