"A survey of the White Mountains of New Hampshire from a naturalist's standpoint, useful alike to the tourist, the "tramper" and the nature-lover." - Small, Maynard & Co., Publishers, Boston - Publisher's Weekly Vol 81, 1912
Listen and revel in the beautiful and detailed descriptions of the flora, fauna and views observed by the author while hiking in the White Mountains in the early 20th century.
(Summary by J. M. Smallheer)
Source text (please read only from this text!): https://www.gutenberg.org/ebooks/67377/

Target completion date: 2022-12-31

Prooflistening level: Standard
Prospective PLs, please see the Guide for Proof-listeners.

IMPORTANT - soloist, please note: in order to limit the number of languishing projects on our server, we ask that you post an update at least once a month in your project thread, even if you haven't recorded anything. If we don't hear from you for three months, your project may be opened up to a group project if a Book Coordinator is found. Files you have completed will be used in this project. If you haven't recorded anything yet, your project will be removed from the forum (contact any admin to see if it can be re-instated).

Please don't download or listen to files belonging to projects in process unless you are the BC or PL. Our servers are not set up to handle the greater volume of traffic. Please wait until the project has been completed. Thanks!

Let me DPL this one as a follow-up to the other volume of Packard that I'm doing.

Too late to claim DPL . . . Oh, well.
The White Mountains are in my backyard, and my son-in-law is especially fond of them.
Well, right now Mt Rushmore is in my backyard, just a few miles up the road. Thought of going up for the nightly light show, but we are also in the middle of thunderstorms.

I've found I can do recording on the road most of the time, if I'm not too tired, so I'll take a close look and choose some sections to read.
On the road again, so delays are possible

Oh, sorry, I didn't see the solo tag.
There is plenty to go around . . . .

03:02 Beginning of sentence missing “Out from far beneath you …”
05:46 I hear “The myrtle warblers of the spring spruces” instead of “The myrtle warblers of the spiring spruces”
