Nary an error to be heard! Major Fiasco...Mr. Raffle Buffle...Trollope's character names are so apt. Your Raffle Buffle had me laughing out loud. Marked PL OK.
What a security and crowd management challenge London faced today. It sounds like the authorities were up to the task.

I'm so glad you enjoyed him.
Here is Chapter 29.

We spent almost the whole day yesterday watching the televised funeral procession and services for the queen. It was very moving and extremely well done.
Such a marvellous Christian witness!
Keep safe

Here is Chapter 30 - a sad one!
https://librivox.org/uploads/maryannspiegel/smallhouse_30_trollope_128kb.mp3

We are off to Rhodes for 7 days next week, with our sailing friends - and activity holiday based in a hotel near the shore.
It will be nice to escape from the relentless political and economic mess our country is in!

Rhodes, as in Greece? Or is there another one closer to home? In any case, I hope you have a safe and fun time. My brother has been in Greece this past month and should be returning home later this week. It was a grand celebration for his retirement.
Chapter 30 was indeed sad. No rainbow without some rain first. Both 29 and 30 are marked PL OK.

Hi
Yes, Rhodes the Greek Island. Although It was occupied by the Italians up to the early 1940's and they had acquired it from Turkey!

I hope all is well with you? We seem to be living in "interesting times" as the Chinese curse would have it, with our wonderful new PM!
Blessings

Chapter 31 is PL OK. Another sad chapter.
We do seem to be living in intereting times, unfortunately. We could all tolerate a little more boredom. As I hear my friends complaining about the elections ads, I am more glad than ever to have given up on TV years ago. I am thankful for responsible journalists who stick to reporting important issues, instead of gossip and opinion, and am thankful for the Internet so that their stories can reach me.
We are grateful for the rain that has finally come--six weeks later than usual. The smoke here was very bad for the last few weeks, and the rain has washed it all away.

Hi
Here is Chapter 22
https://librivox.org/uploads/maryannspiegel/smallhouse_32_trollope_128kb.mp3 25:58.2
Set in Jermyn Street - where I spent 9 months before I went to University working as a shop assistant in a very old-fashioned Artists' Colourman. There are still shirt-makers in the street, and a wonderful cheese shop (not that I can have cheese any longer!) and , at least at the time I was working there, there was the entrance to a gentleman's club!
I'm so glad you have had the rain you needed! Let us hop the weather calms down now!

Chapter 22 is PL OK. I had to look up "negus". Not sure why the earl was so horrified. It sounds worth trying to me!

Hi
I agree with you about negus - our tastes are clearly not refined enough for Trollope!
Here is Chapter 33 https://librivox.org/uploads/maryannspiegel/smallhouse_33_trollope_128kb.mp3 31:26
We have just come back from our fake Christmas - the whole family (9 of us including Felicity, our granddaughter, who will be 9 on Christmas Day) spent a long weekend in a Forest cabin - a llarge, luxurious wooden cabin, in Sherwood Forest, in the midst of pine trees, with a hot tub just outside. It was a lovely time.

Hi
Helen is down in Tonbridge sorting shoe-boxes for the Samaritan's Purse Christmas initiative. I have managed to record another chapter, then discovered I was late for Zoom French (which I was hosting!).
So now I have managed to upload Chapter 34. I hope you enjoy.

Chapters 33 and 34 are PL OK. I did indeed enjoy them.
My children so enjoyed filling Samaritan's purse shoeboxes when they were younger. They loved to go to the drug store and choose all the little notebooks and pencils to put into them. I always hoped no little boy got Jenny's boxes by accident with all their glittery pink and purple items!

Hi
Here is Chapter 35
https://librivox.org/uploads/maryannspiegel/smallhouse_35_trollope_128kb.mp3 35:14.2
Helen is one of a team of people who check the boxes - there are all sorts of things that cannot be sent - even soap this year - so there is little chance of a box going to the wrong gender!

Chapter 35 is PL OK.
I suppose the boxes do have to be well-checked. It is amazing how often instructions are ignored when making up kits of that sort. Hoping this finds you and Helen continuing well.

Happy new year to you and Helen!
All is well here. After a very short cold snap, our weather is very mild. We're missing both the atmospheric rivers and the intense cold the rest of the country is experiencing.
Chapter 36 is PL OK. I think I'm beginning to be fond of Lady Julia.
