Great job. I like all the emotion you put into it, especially, the shivery "oh" from the girl who didn't like bugs. Looking forward to continuing the story. :)

Chapter 1 is PL OK.

Thank you! I love the dramatics! That's why it takes me so long to get it just right. I need to pre-read it so I know when to put the emotions in it. My biggest problem is the pronunciation of words that I never heard of before. However, I'm working that out.

Hope to have another chapter possibly tonight.

So glad to see that you've got this solo underway, Carol.
And, you are in good hands with your DPL - one of the best.

I admire the way you've taken on all of the LibriVox challenges.
On the road again, so delays are possible

Time -- 18:32

Poor Bee.

One comment on this chapter.
At about 16:25 sounds like a slight stumble/extra word between "that" and "it" in "thinking that it was his daughter."

You are making me want to read one of my favorite childhood books. :)

Time -- 18:32

Boy, that was a tough one to find! I never would have caught that on my own. Then how to fix it? I knew I'd have to do the whole sequence again to get the emotion right. However, after listening intently, I figured out where the extra word was and took a chance on deleting it. I think it worked! *WHEW*

The next section will be coming soon. This is a good book and makes me want to keep going to see if poor Bee ever gets accepted. A lot of us, including me, can relate to her in one sense or another. This is a story that stands the test of time. So glad I found it!

Thanks!

I'm glad you found it too and that you let me be your DPL. :)

You did an excellent job with the editing. It is now PL OK.
