8:09 death and renewal, you say renew-o-val

09
16:38 but my ideas were not precise enough, you say eyes
15:53 the halucination made me feel a sharp pain, you say fear
16:11 laboratory, you pronounce lab'-ra-tory here, but throughout the book so far you have said la-bor'-a-tory
16:28 under the operating theatre, you say table
Ok, sections 4 and 6 through 9 should be fixed hopefully. There was one small thing in section 6 I think I didn't fix because it seemed like it'd affect the flow of the reading more to change than leave as-is.

PL Notes 10

2:33 throat clearing, plus 3 seconds of silence (I wonder how throat clearings, plus coughs, whistles and long silences make it past your own PLing scrutiny. Please explain.)
14:44 the principle one of which is, you say the principle, of one which is
27:46 many sen-ten-tious-ly remarked, you say sen-tish-us-ly

Alas, Alas, Alas! I begin to hate this story. Poor Nicolas! Poor bull! What a Frankensteinian turn of events, and that accent is so believable methinks you be in danger of morphing into the Professor's role! BEWARE!
When the Professor referred to Faust, I literally heard Fauci and had to play it back.

6-9 and 4, are PL OK.

Good catch of that mistake in my notes, where 09 belongs UNDER 16:38, and the note goes with 08. The clues were there for a good sleuth to notice!

PL Notes 11

This chapter is wonky, yes, and hilarious!!!!! Finita la Commedia, indeed.

16:35 missing paragraph (in bold): making at full speed for the fatal wood. Unfortunately, the assistants were afraid of my proximity, and the détour which they were making[230] to avoid me, outside the paddock, would delay them. Lerne had boldly taken a short cut,

I think Chapter 15 (which I should hopefully have uploaded later today) may be the wonkiest in the entire book.

I may have to wait a few days to listen then. I'm still all choked up laughing at that bull's business.

Alright section 15 is up!
And section 16 is up! Now I just need to fix the inevitable mistakes that you'll find and this one'll be wrapped up! :D

4:42 that the professor had at last been restored to wisdom, you say at least
11:44 the more soul can this latter project into a receptacle, you say pro'ject, should say pro-ject'
-- one a noun the other a verb, same spelling, two different pronunciations.
12:49 our efforts must tend to, you say lend
21:44 repeat Oh, I cried in terror, rabies.

Ok, sections 10 - 12 should be fixed. On section 10, I didn't update sententiously just because editing that German accent is tricky and I thought that was a pretty minor one.

PL Notes
13

5:55 than if it had been. you say than it if had been

14

6:55 hall door in charge of the servant, you say serpent
20:00 beheld the end of its pleasant, moving, or repulsive marvels, you say plennant (you could just delete this word with no loss of meaning to the phrase)

We have spoken elsewhere of quiet spots in your recordings, and possible remedies. In this file, volume drops below 84 at various stretches such as between 7:40 - 7:53; 10:22 - 10:55; 11:40 - 11:45. And, 28:38 to end registers at 79.5.

Why isn't this the last chapter? I fear it's because despite Lerne's demise, Nicholas is NOT out of the woods yet. Am I right?

I am considering claiming the cover. What comes to your mind to capture the essence of the story?

Remember when I said Chapter 15 might be the wonkiest chapter in the whole book?

Not sure... This is a pretty weird one. Looking at the cover art for all the various editions of the book, none of them are particularly good. This poster for the TV movie version from 1983 is probably the most ridiculous and representative even though it doesn't make much sense:

It's the one on the left.
