It's been a month, so I'm checking in on this project. I'll be seeing the doctor next week, so that's a step forward.

Hi Erin,
I am glad. You would be sorely missed.
Take care!

Hi Pam,

I had recorded several chapters for this project prior to catching Covid, but I'd held off editing them thinking I'd be able to get a better match on any possible patches once I'd recovered (oops!). I'm going to start editing them now and see how it goes. One of the doctors I've seen thinks I can probably record without causing any damage, so even if it's slow I should be able eventually to get Susie King Taylor's story out to the wider world. No hurry at all on PLing, this will not be a quick job.

Hi Erin,

Sections 1 and 2 are PL OK.

Very interesting!

Hi Pam,

Looks like we're swapping sections to PL!

Section 3 is up. This will be the last one for a week or two when I'm out of office.

She doesn't say when or how she was vaccinated, unfortunately. As for ingesting sassafras, wikipedia mentions several traditional uses but not for this pox. With so much of these memoirs I wish she'd expand on things she only mentions fleetingly.

I think being on those offshore islands, she had more freedom than on the mainland.

Hi Erin,

Section 4 is PL OK.

I visited the bronze depiction of Shaw and his regiment again last month when I was in Boston.

My best,

Pam

Oooh, I'm sorry that I wasn't able to finish this sooner! I'm glad you've fit in some historical tourism.
