PL OK
I was wondering if this is near where I grew up, and this time it mentioned Iowa. I grew up probably an hour north, in South Central Wisconsin. We used to ski on the Mississippi in summer
Waiting for a clever signature line to occur to me.

Wow, that's cool! I don't know Iowa at all, although my grandparents came from there (I grew up in small towns in Wyoming, where small town life is similar). The first full book that I read for Librivox a few months ago (by the same author) was "Swatty: A Story of Real Boys" - also in Riverbank, Iowa - and then I did "Kilo: Being a love story of Eliph' Hewlitt, Book Agent" - in the little fictitious town of Kilo, also near the Mississippi.

The Mississippi is a fascinating river. It has such lore in the American imagination, and is such a different kind of place in different areas of it. I've been to the headwaters in Bemidgi, MN - so I can truthfully say that I've walked across the Mississippi. When you think of what it becomes by the time it spills out in New Orleans, you'd barely think it was the same river.
On this page is a good picture of the headwaters.

I also just noticed you're in Tucson. Did you see I'm in Las Cruces?

Yes! My wife and I have driven through there on our way to Dallas Texas and beyond.
Chapter 4 is ready for PL - and we interrupt the story of Harvey, to get all wrapped up in the soap-opera lives of the women of the boarding house! Butler gets back to Harvey later on, fortunately. It took me a little while to figure out where to pitch the voices of these 4 different women so that they'd all sound a little different.

What melodrama there at the boardinghouse.
One note:
At 12:06, you say Henrietta Betts. I thought it might be just an accent thing, but at :31 you clearly say Bates. I'm sure we're going to return to this story line, so it should probably be fixed.

Hmmm...text is perfect. But at 7:35, a sort of soft whooshing background starts. I at first thought it was a car passing or something like that, rain maybe? But it kept going. It stops abruptly at 11:50. It probably isn't something our listeners would hear while driving or wearing headphones while cleaning house (my two places to listen!), but listen to it and see what you think. I was kind of waiting for a pause long enough to use for noise reduction, but I'm not sure there is one since it's mostly dialogue. Up to you whether to address.
