All right, thanks!

Just a curiosity, Joanne: wouldn`t it be better to read about 10 letters at once, in one file, I mean? Being they so short... 🐦

All of the last bunch are good, Joanne! 👍 🌻

Btw, I ask you not to remove my notes about where to look for PL notes from the MW (PL notes p. 3, for example). It will make my work more comfortable. Thank you! 🙏

Missed the closure:
At the end of the section, say:

I've re-uploaded section 25, and checked that the closing is there.

I've been thinking about the suggestion to group multiple letters into a section, and it has some appeal. Some concerns: the length of the descriptions in the MW; it would make sense to group into a single section related letters, but they are numbered in chronological order which could mean putting non-consecutively numbered letters into a section; and the hassle of re-recording already-recorded sections to get them re-numbered. Nevertheless, I'm more than willing to consider it. Your thoughts?

Thanks,

Joanne,

How many letters are there?

We are not to change what the author wrote, so I don't think you can rearrange them by topic. But if you want to group them into, say, month chunks, that would be fine. The title could then be something like "letters from August 1785."

MaryAnn, there are 163 letters in total. At least one of those will need to be broken up into at least 2 sections, if not 3, because of its length.

I like the suggestion of grouping them by month, and I'll work on that before recording any new sections. Alexander, I think I can do that by simply appending the letters themselves into a single file by deleting the section intros and outros, and re-recording only a single intro and outro for each of the new sections. A plan, maybe?

Thanks, both of you.

I`m afraid I`m so inexperienced in these matters... I believe your plans with MaryAnn will be more efficient without my suggestions. 🐧

Joanne,

Yes, I think your plan sounds good. Little editing, and a new intro/outro should take care of everything you've done so far without too much rework.

Alexander and MaryAnn, I've started the regrouping of files. Alexander, I've added notes in the time slot of which sections are grouped under the new number, hoping that will keep me on track. My process is to append the sections to be grouped, one after the other in numerical order, re-record the intro with the new section number, delete the section numbers and duplicative intros, and re-record the outro with the new section number. Hope you can breeze through them with spot checks. If there's something I can do on my end to make your PLing easier, just ask!

Thanks again for the suggestion, MaryAnn!

Alexander, I'm finally back to work on this project, consolidating correspondence by month. There are a few ready for your spot checks. In each case, I've indicated which prior section numbers have been consolidated. I'm almost caught up with what I had recorded.

Thanks for your patience, and for listening.
