Dave - Thanks for PLing 13 - Sections 14 & 15 now uploaded.

How did you get on this week when the polar vortex swept through Chicago? From the reports shown on the TV news it looked an horrendous spell of weather to deal with!

Cheers

14-15 PL OK.

It has been a tad chilly. Air temps of -20 degrees C and wind chills of -40 degrees C. My only problem was that I gave a neighbor a "jump" to help start their car (which it did) and then found I couldn't fully close the hood on my car. After a very slow drive to an auto garage, a mechanic quickly solved the problem.

Thanks for that, Dave - although parts of this next section would definitely not be included in the career brochure for prospective medical orderlies of the R.A.M.C.!

Thanks also for PLing 16 - Section 17 now uploaded.

(FYI - Section 17 was uploaded twice - First upload was a file that hadn't been corrected (timed 51:15). Second file is the correct one, timed at 51:08)

Cheers

Thanks for PLing 18 - Section 19 now uploaded.

The final chapter is quite short, so this tour of duty should come to an end in two or three days! :)

As will I. I don't think that Mr Edwardes left any aspect of the work of the Army Medical Corps unsaid. And as personal memoirs go, I would rate this as one of the better ones.

Thanks for PLing 19 - Final Section 20 now uploaded.

Thanks also for PLing & MCing the project - I really appreciate it.

Cheers

20 PL OK. Finished1

Will try to catalog this tonight. But first some celebrating on St. Patrick's Day weekend (i.e. starting with a Guinness and finishing with a boiled meal).

Hope you enjoyed the first half of the St. Patrick's Day weekend and that Ireland's defeat by Wales in the Guinness Six Nations (Rugby Union) didn't dampen the spirit of the celebrations! :)

Have been reading how seriously the City of Chicago takes St. Patrick's Day. From dyeing the river green to all the parades and festivities organised - sounds like a good part of the city turns green and gets into party mode! :)

Hope you had a great time.

Cheers

All audio files can be found on our catalog page: https://librivox.org/with-the-royal-army-medical-corps-in-egypt-by-tickner-edwardes/

Let me know if any changes are needed.

About a million people showed up downtown to view the parade on Saturday. Most were dressed in the silliest of costumes. The mood was very upbeat and it was good to hear people laugh given all the troubles in the world. I enjoyed my Guinness and corned beef and cabbage diner with friends after the parade. All-in-all a good day.
