Does it really take him that long to figure it out? I guess it must, since he hasn't twigged about his wife's spirit coming back/possessing other people. The Newcastle fantasy series really takes in a range of titles. I just wish it were possible to see a longlist - whoever compiled the final list of novels that did get reprinted must have read all kinds of odd and interesting books!

The Ballantyne list looks absolutely fantastic. I spotted a couple of titles on there that I'm waiting to pounce on as soon as they become PD for Legamus, and a couple of others that have been on my to-read list for a while. Thanks, Anne!

You're absolutely right, most of the Ballantine list isn't currently PD. Althoooooooough it looks like some of the E. R. Eddison is PD, and that there was an expanded edition of The Twilight of the Gods by Richard Garnett published in 1903. As for Legamus, authors are coming out of copyright faster than I can record them, but I'm still getting the 'I want!'s when I look. It's a good ten years or so away, but for me the big one is Lord Dunsany, including what's probably his most famous novel.
I drool over it, but it's a bit silly, really. There's still plenty to be getting on with, here and on Legamus, without moaning over the Ballantine stuff that isn't available yet.

Nah, I don't think it's taking too long. And even if it were, it would fit with Phra's going into a state of suspended animation! Just keep going and whenever it's done, it's done. I'm happy with the pace if you are.
