Smithy (1915) [38,629 word count]
MILITARY "crime" is not crime at all, as we law-abiding citizens recognize it. The outbreak in the Anchester Regiment was not a very serious affair; from what I can gather, it mostly took the form of breaking out of barracks after "lights out." But, explained Smithy, it got a bit too thick, and one of the consequences was that the guard was doubled, pickets were strengthened, and the ranks of the regimental military police were, as a temporary measure, considerably augmented. I explain this for the benefit of my military readers, who may wonder how it was that both Smithy and Nobby Clark happened to be together on Number One post on the night of The Adjutant's Madness.

Gilbert Standerton, nephew of irascible old General Standerton, might have cleared up the matter by telling what he knew of the affair to the police. For reasons of his own he preferred not to, and for even better reasons George Wallis, a criminal well-known to Scotland Yard, kept his knowledge of the affair secret. And then begins a long series of extraordinary crimes, so baffling that they defy detection until, in a startling manner, the dual mystery is unexpectedly solved.

I think you have misunderstood something about faded pages - we only accept reading from them when the text they used is from a PD in the USA book
I only checked The Squealer - the title page image clearly said 1931 . So it would not be accepted for LV.

And it isn't just a 1931 reprint of the 1927 material. The copyright notice on that particular one has "COPYRIGHT, 1927, 1928".

My mistake. I'm aware of the FadedPage policy. I thought I had checked all of them, but I must have neglected to for this link in particular.

I think many of us place Wallace's work in the genre of the detective novel and forget that he had quite a strong SciFi leanings; after all, he helped to give the world King Kong.

The Square Emerald (1926) [62358 word count]

I decided to adopt Door with Seven Locks as a solo.

Also I just a HUGE update to the first post with a lot of Wallace novels found that weren't previously listed. I also added a list at the bottom of Wallace books that should be public domain right now that I'm not able to find a viable source for (Gutenberg Australia isn't an acceptable source for Librivox).
