Want to read some newly public domain Tolkien? Here is your chance. They are both nonfiction, and don't appear to be the easiest reads.

First off, an essay titled "The Devil's Coach Horses".

You can find the text here: https://babel.hathitrust.org/cgi/pt?id=mdp.39015060427393&view=1up&seq=345

Or there is also "Some Contributions to Middle-English Lexicography"

For the record, he died in '73, so he's not PD anywhere (and the texts aren't visible) except in the US.
Bulwer-Lytton novel: The Caxtons
Adventure/Travel: Across Mongolian Plains
Boring works 30-70 minutes long: Insomnia Collection 5
Adult dog stories: Best Dog Stories
Gospel of Matthew: Matthew, YLT

In case you ever really need to know when Tolkien died, as some of my friends did tonight when I included that question in a trivia game, here's how you can memorize it:

Three rings for the Elven kings under the sky,
Nine for mortal Men doomed to die,
Seven for the Dwarf lords in their halls of stone,
One for the dark lord on his dark throne.
One ring to rule them all, one ring to find them.
One ring to bring them all, and in the darkness bind them.

One, Nine, Seven, Three

Tolkien is alive in mightyfelix-san's mind. So his works never fall into Public Domain. (In short, he cann't die because of you and you.) So, you had better buy his audiobooks. Now, his works rush into commercial audiobook market.

Oh, I'm drunken because of the New Year...
No way. He stole away a pretty thing, you know.
That's your heart.
