So, this is one of my favorite books and I intend to do a solo recording of it in 2021! : D It was first published in 1925 and Broster died in 1950, so it's out of copyright for me in Sweden too. From what I can see, I have two options for the source:
1) There is an ebook at the Canadian fadedpage.com, but the question is if it was prepared from a book that had a 1925 copyright? I emailed them to ask, and here is what I got:
"The source book was published by William Heinemann. If the enquirer needs the TP&V scans, let me know. Note that unlike US-published books, UK-published books don't have to have a copyright notice. Here's the text from its verso page:
First Published October 1925
New Editions November 1925, April 1926
Cheaper Edition (3s. 6d.) February 1927
Reprinted August 1927, January 1928
January, September 1929, September 1930
January 1931, January 1932
Popular Edition (2s.) 1921
Printed in Great Britain at The Windmill Press,
Kingswood, Surrey"
So...I don't know what conclusion to draw from that?
2) I own a 1925 first edition of the book, can I just read from that? It would really be the simplest for me...
[ADOPTED] Flight of the Heron, by D K Broster

If you own a 1925 edition, you can read from that. You would send your MC a picture/scan of the title page and copyright page (put them in a Zip file since the uploader doesn't take image files directly).
I don't see a 1925 edition on Archive.org or HathiTrust, so this is probably your best option.

As Tricia said, if you own a 1925 edition, you can read from that.
It may be worth to wait a few days for the book to show up at hathitrust, archive, gutenberg... etc. It's a holiday plus the weekend... give them some time to get things done.

Ha ha, I've already waited for some time, sorry for my impatience. : ) I figured the Gutenberg folks were not starting to work on books until after the new year, so it might take some time for it to turn up as an ebook there.
If I do end up reading from my physical book: the new project template generator has a required field which is a link to the text, what do I do with that?

You can put in something like "hard copy" or "physical book".If I do end up reading from my physical book: the new project template generator has a required field which is a link to the text, what do I do with that?

They may have it all ready to go but must wait to put it up when it's officially pd. Same with hathitrust and even archive.
For now, you can leave the link blank and mention in your post that you'll read from a hardcopy. Your MC will give you further instructions.

Availle - I don't think you can leave that field blank, which is why the question came up.

oh, okay.
Since I don't own ancient books like this I completely rely on the internet for my book links and the issue has never come up with me. Sorry 'bout the confusion.
