My name is Brian Campbell and I am interested in recording a solo book for the first of the "John Carter of Mars" series.
I have recorded before and was told I did a good recording of "A Tale-Tell Heart" for the short works and poetry section.
I checked and it is in the public domain.

A Princess of Mars by Edgar Rice Burroughs (1875 - 1950).

John Carter, a rugged and courageous cowboy, enters a cave in the desert and finds himself on Mars surrounded by giant men who take him captive along with a human princess. ( Brian Campbell)
  • Text source (only read from this text!): http://gutenberg.org/ebooks/62
  • Type of proof-listening required (Note: please read the PL FAQ): standard

IMPORTANT - soloist, please note: in order to limit the amount of languishing projects (and hence the amount of files on our hard-pressed server), we ask that you post an update at least once a month in your project thread, even if you haven't managed to record anything. If we don't hear from you for three months, your project may be opened up to a group project if a Book Coordinator is found. Files you have completed will be used in this project. If you haven't recorded anything yet, your project will be removed from the forum (contact any admin to see if it can be re-instated).
Please don't download or listen to files belonging to projects in process (unless you are the BC or PL). Our servers are not set up to handle the greater volume of traffic. Please wait until the project has been completed. Thanks!

Are you aware this will be version 4 of this in the data base ?
This does not mean you may not read it, just that there is a group version and 2 solo versions already available and many readers prefer to add to the variety available.

OK, Brian, your MW is ready for you! You have some homework to do first.

As a soloist, you are your own BC. That means you are responsible for your MW, you get to fill in the section titles, paste your links into their proper spot, and to let your DPL know that you have uploaded a new section. I need you to log into the workflow (what runs our Magic Window) for the first time. Please check out this document at this link. These are the instructions for completing your homework. Please let me know if you have any problems, or if you have accessed the MW.

We will also stay here a day or two to see if we can pick up a DPL!

I'm going to move this over Book Suggestions until the reader is ready to start!

Since the reader has not been on the forum since December 12, and it has been more than a month since this project was posted, I am taking the MW down, removing myself as MC and cavaet as DPL. If the reader comes back, this thread can be resurrected.
