I was searching for some other books and I came across a list of Newberry Honor books.Theses were books that were runner ups to the Newberry Medal. I found the texts for the ones that are obviously PD and not in our catalog.

I am not familiar with any of these books, but I thought they might be of interest.

These are from the 1922 medal year. (There were no Honor books in 1923)

Cedric the Forester by Bernard Gay Marshall: http://www.gutenberg.org/ebooks/37102 - ADOPTED
The Great Quest by Charles Boardman Hawes: http://www.gutenberg.org/ebooks/40265

Hi, Maria! I am a Newbery mega-LOVER! I own almost every single one of them in hard copy, lacking only about 3 that have me periodically combing through rare books sales, hoping to find ones that I can afford to fill my gaps with.

I'm trying to get a project started on The Dream Coach, which has a 1924 publish date, but the copyright was allowed to expire, putting it in the public domain already. It's not yet on Gutenberg Project, though. I think that's why I'm having a hard time getting an MC to pick it up?

So I decided I'd love to read Cedric the Forester while I wait for that project to be picked up. I've got a request posted in the New Launch Pad, and hopefully it'll get an MC. Once these two projects are squared away, I plan to hit The Great Quest and then The Old Tobacco Shop, if somebody else hasn't put them in. By then, Nicholas: A Manhattan Christmas Story and Tales of Silver Lands ought to be up for public domain. :)
