The Gray Angels by Nalbro Bartley

This is a terrific book, filled with an interesting cast of distinct characters, including one of the most vivid heroines of whom I've ever read; Thurley comes from less than nothing and takes the opera world by storm. She's caught in the malestrom and rises on voice not to be forgotten.
This novel weaves deep philosophical dialogue with the common touch; it's a love story ... love of life, including all of our pains, all of our failures and all of our glories. It's a triumph.
I DO hope that someone with greater BC skill than I will pick up this work and bring it to life!
