This one looks really good. I'm going to bookmark it for a possible future group project.

I'm going to go ahead and launch this as a group project. But I'm not sure if I should say, in the Project Template Generator, that it is a compilation with multiple authors or not. There are one hundred authors, in fact (not counting the introduction and preface, I think), but how would that appear in our catalog? Would I have to enter each author's name individually? Or should I just use the editor's name? Each author would of course be named in their own section, either way, but maybe not linked? :help:

What the "compilation" does is to add individual metadata fields to each and every section of a book and make this metadata individually searchable. This means that somebody (meaning: the BC) has to enter this metadata manually to each section. Unfortunately, our catalog search is not very good, so when searching for the book title, you would get all sections individually listed in the results (which is something that drives me nuts during the staff-picking each month. )

So, generally we say that "if it's published as a single book, it will stay as a single book" - meaning it won't be a collection, and the author listed in the catalog would be the editor. (Which is afaik the case for modern collections in libraries etc. as well. )

We may be a bit flexible if there are many well-known authors that people would search for though.

In this particular case, (and I apologise for my ignorance) I would say there are not many of these in this book, and I doubt that people would search for Mr. "JONES, T. W." , Prominent business man, Chicago, Ill.
So, personally, I would go the "single book with editor" route.
Cheers,
Ava.

Thank you, Ava. I suspected it was something like that, but I do appreciate your taking the time to explain it all to me. It'll be in the launch pad shortly!
