Here's a very cool one not yet cataloged:
The Primitive by Chester Himes: https://babel.hathitrust.org/cgi/pt?id=mdp.39015011800169&view=1up&seq=9
Himes was a very influential hard-boiled crime writer whose works were adapted into films like A Rage in Harlem and Cotton Comes to Harlem.

Certified public domain in the US by Hathitrust. I also independently validated that it had no copyright renewal.

One more suggestion that has been certified public domain in the US by Hathitrust:
Night Song by John A. Williams:
https://babel.hathitrust.org/cgi/pt?id=mdp.39015073495692&view=1up&seq=9

Critically acclaimed portrait of a jazz artist said to be inspired by Charlie Parker.
