O Abolicionismo by Joaquim Nabuco (1849 - 1910).

( )
  • Text source (only read from this text!): http://www.dominiopublico.gov.br/pesquisa/DetalheObraForm.do?select_action=&co_obra=1835
  • Type of proof-listening required (Note: please read the PL FAQ): standard

IMPORTANT - soloist, please note: in order to limit the amount of languishing projects (and hence the amount of files on our hard-pressed server), we ask that you post an update at least once a month in your project thread, even if you haven't managed to record anything. If we don't hear from you for three months, your project may be opened up to a group project if a Book Coordinator is found. Files you have completed will be used in this project. If you haven't recorded anything yet, your project will be removed from the forum (contact any admin to see if it can be re-instated).
Please don't download or listen to files belonging to projects in process (unless you are the BC or PL). Our servers are not set up to handle the greater volume of traffic. Please wait until the project has been completed. Thanks!

This paragraph is temporary and will be replaced by the MC with the list of sections and reader (Magic Window) once this project is in the admin system.

Hi Ana,

Welcome to LibriVox!

I applaud your enthusiasm for wanting to dive into a solo project. But, we need you to do a few things first.

1. Please take care of your one minute test. This is not an audition, it is our way to make sure that all your settings are where we need them to be. This test can be in English or Portuguese, or even both just because you're having fun with it! You will find all the information pertaining to that test at this link.

2. We would like for you to record something for a group project. It could be anything, that is your choice. We like new readers to do this just to try out recording. Some people find that the whole process is overwhelming and don't want to continue with a much larger project.

Once you get these done, then I would be more than happy to guide you through the process of become a soloist. It's easy, but you are mostly on your own and I like to make sure that new soloists are totally comfortable with the whole process by the time they are done their first project!

ETA: Do you know if there is another online text, such as a scan of this book? I see a copyright of 2000, which I know is not for the text itself, but if this website is slapping copyrights on stuff just because it is on their website, that could be a problem potentially be a problem for us. Or maybe the site has the scans that we can have a look at?

Moving this over to Book Suggestions to keep the Launch Pad neat and tidy!
