I would like to solo read the Brahma Sutras either translated by Sri Sankaracharya (sp?) or translated by the guy who brought hindu religion to the US, Swami Vivekananda in the 1890's. In English.

Is someone better than me in locating translations by authors than myself?

Several works (includes duplicates) up to 1913, the most recent date we can record.
'''Swami Vivekananda''' (; 12 January 1863 – 4 July 1902), born '''Narendranath Datta''' (), was an Indian Hindu monk, a chief disciple of the 19th-century Indian mystic Ramakrishna. He was a key figure in the introduction of the Indian philosophies of Vedanta and Yoga to the Western world

1. there are a lot of words i could guess at by sounding out. but there are others throughout the text that i will not be able to read well. most examples are short. here is a long one:
[Footnote 9: Ita/s/ /k/aitad evam. Anuk/ri/tes tasya /k/a. Tasya
daharâkâsasya parabrahma/n/o snukârâd ayam apahatapâpmatvâdigu/n/ako
vimuktabandha/h/ pratyagâtmâ na daharakâ/s/a/h/ tadanukâras tatsâmya/m/
tathâ hi pratyagâlmanozpi vimuktasya parabrahmânukâra/h/ srûyate yadâ
pa/s/ya/h/ pa/s/yate rukmavar/n/a/m/ kartâram î/s/a/m/ purusha/m/
brahmayoni/m/ tadâ vidvân pu/n/yapâpe vidhûya nira/ñg/ana/h/ parama/m/
sâmyam upaitîty atos'nukartâ prajâpativâkyanirdish/t/a

2. i'd like to shave an inch to inch and a half off the margins of the text that i copied/pasted from the internet archive text. in the past, i either knew how to copy/ paste text without whatever it was causing the soft return or maybe i "found and replaced" a soft return with a space. any ideas how to remove the soft returns of text that comes from more narrow margins?

searching and replacing \n with a regular expression isn't working. libreOffice Writer doesn't recognize \n as a character.

currently, i'm deleting a character that looks like a backwards blue paragraph sign (two posts or lines below the bubble of the "P"). this combines the shortened lines that were once meant for shorter margins.

THank you for the lead, VfkaBT! I'm sure it took some work to find all this.

i have figured this out. after tools---> autocorrect ---> autocorrect options ---> autocorrect options --->(check) combine single line paragraphs if greater than 50% (edit 50% by double clicking on it). one must go back to autocorrect ---> autocorrect options ---> apply

this will remove all the soft returns left when pasting into wider margins.

However, i'm still stuck on how to pronounce words in another language that are quite foreign to me and often exceedingly long.

i will doubtfully start this for another month.
