I would like to record "The Laurel Token: A Story of the Yamasee Uprising" by Annie Maria Barnes. It was published in 1904 and is available in the public domain.

Welcome!

I find it is available here: https://archive.org/details/laureltokenstory00barn
and here: https://catalog.hathitrust.org/Record/008654539

It's definitely do-able here at LV. :) It looks like it is fairly long for a first project, though. I would suggest, before starting in on this as a solo, (1) doing the 1-minute test to be sure your settings are correct, and (2) recording a couple sections in group projects to get the hang of recording and editing, and to get a feel for how we work around here.
School fiction: David Blaize

Serial novel: The Wandering Jew

Do you know how to get the project approved and find a Book Coordinator?

If you're doing a solo, you are the book coordinator. :) Here's a thread over in the Launch Pad with more information about starting a solo project: viewtopic.php?f=28&t=13513

The project is "approved" if it's public domain in the USA, so that part is done already. :)
