The soul of Lilith
by Corelli, Marie, 1855-1924
The following story does not assume to be what is generally understood by a "novel". It is simply the account of a strange and daring experiment once actually attempted, and it is offered to those who are interested in the unseen "possibilities" of the Hereafter, merely for what it is - a single episode in the life of a man who voluntarily sacrificed his whole worldly career in a supreme effort to prove the apparently Unprovable.

Three things in human life are important: the first is to be kind; the second is to be kind; and the third is to be kind. Henry James
