Sir John William Salmond KC (3 December 1862 – 19 September 1924) was a legal scholar, public servant and judge in New Zealand.

He was the author of Jurisprudence or the Theory of the Law [1902] (for which Salmond was awarded the Swiney Prize in 1914 by the Royal Society of Arts) and The Law of Torts [1907] (for which Harvard University in 1911 awarded Salmond the James Barr Ames Prize for the best legal treatise published in the world over a period of five years).

Salmond on Torts is regarded as legal classic.

Thanks Cori! :D

As much as I would like to BC these books, my lack of experience prevents me from taking up such a responsibility :( However, I would love to volunteer as DPL (although I will be available only on weekends).

I am planning to BC the book on Jurisprudence.

I am thinking of splitting it into 3 volumes as follows :-
Chapters 1-9: preface + 69 sections, 176 pages
Chapters 10-16: 55 sections, 133 pages
Chapter 17-appendices: 52 sections + 5 (appendices), 188 pages

I'll be able to take on only one volume at a time. Since this will be my first book as BC, I will be grateful for any advice and suggestions.

The sections you are proposing are only a page or two, in many cases, and would make for many very short recordings. I would recommend you keep most of the chapters intact as single sections. The few chapters that exceed 20 pages or so, you could split into two. That way you would have ~ 30 sections for the entire book. Easily a single project. :)
