Lenox Dare
by Townsend, Virginia F. (Virginia Frances), 1836-1920

lenox dare is just a little girl when she first meets robert beresford. he is a painter, working on a painting into which he is pouring his very soul. naturally she wants to see it, so when he is away for just a moment she runs over to look, but she falls and accidentally breaks the picture. robert, whose biggest fault is his temper, loses it. but lenox dare is no ordinary girl, and their lives are connected from this moment.

Three things in human life are important: the first is to be kind; the second is to be kind; and the third is to be kind. Henry James
