The way of a maid
by Tynan, Katharine, 1861-1931

interesting book about a small town in ireland, and the people who live there. for example the oliver daughters, may and jessie, are growing up and starting their lives focused on worldly things, and the hurley daughters, who are both planning on joining convents. but the town is also split and divided, not just in the way that any small town is, but also along lines of religion, with conflicts between the catholic and the protestant inhabitants.

interesting stuff, well written.
