Mrs. Wiggs of the Cabbage Patch by Alice Caldwell Hegan Rice

this is kind of a cute story of an elderly poor woman who loses everything, and then miss lucy helps her by writing an article in the newspaper and all the good people around are sending money and within a few days mrs wiggs has over three hundred dollars. but lucy also has a lot of trouble so maybe mrs wiggs can now do something for her. it is short and set in kentucky, maybe someone will like the local connections :)
