To the highest bidder
by Kingsley, Florence Morse, 1859-1937
it is jimmys sixth birthday, and he has a great day being just adorable, but his sister is keeping their farm running and taking care of him. the taking care is going well, but the farm is not going well at all, there are financial difficulties, and barbara is basically either forced to sell it or to get married.

The star of love
by Kingsley, Florence Morse, 1859-1937
this is one of florence morse kingsleys famous romances, but this one is set in ancient persia. interesting what with historical detail, but otherwise much like her other books (which is not a bad thing!)

The needle's eye
by Kingsley, Florence (Morse), Mrs., 1859-
this is the last florence morse kingsley book id like to suggest (for the present). one morning, a farmer finds a woman frozen to death in his barn, but she had a baby with her who survived. he wants nothing to do with the boy, but his wife is made of stronger material than he had thought before, and is determined to keep him. the woman is taken to the morgue, and buried under slightly irregular circumstances. nobody knows who the woman or the boy are, but there is (naturally) a big mystery in this identity.

This one is really exciting! I'd highly recommend it for anyone wanting a good read that takes place around the time and events of the Three Musketeers.
