There is currently a project underway to read a compilation of the messages and papers of President U.S. Grant. I'm not sure why he was chosen (maybe someone had a particular interest in him as a historical figure, it's an abandoned solo which was converted to a group project). When this project is complete, it might be interesting to record compilations regarding some of the other presidents:

George Washington : http://www.gutenberg.org/ebooks/11314
John Adams ; http://www.gutenberg.org/ebooks/10894
Thomas Jefferson : http://www.gutenberg.org/ebooks/10893
James Madison : http://www.gutenberg.org/ebooks/10895
James Monroe : http://www.gutenberg.org/ebooks/10919
Abraham Lincoln : http://www.gutenberg.org/ebooks/12462
Theodore Roosevelt: http://www.gutenberg.org/ebooks/13891

I can look at starting another one . . . but it won't be until Grant is finished. So feel free to stop over there and read a few sections!
