Welcome!3rdEyeKing wrote: ↑January 12th, 2022, 2:07 am Which of these stories or works are you still seeking narrator's?
I would assume any that someone didn't say they're recording. But you can also search the catalog to be sure (librivox.org, and click on "advanced search" under the box in the upper right corner).
HOWEVER...
Please, PLEASE, before embarking on a solo, do two things:
(1) We do STRONGLY encourage a one-minute test (LINK) to check your technical settings. It's not an audition, but to make sure you're exporting at the correct bit rate, have your recording in mono, etc. It would be a shame to record a whole section, only to have to scrap it and redo it because of some simple setting that is incorrect.
(2) Claim, record, and get OK'd at least one section in a group project. This is to make sure you know what you're getting into. Recording a whole book isn't as easy as it seems. It isn't simply sitting down and recording. There's editing to do - and that often can take up to 5 times as long as recording does. In my experience, a ballpark estimate of 95% of brand new readers who start with a solo end up quitting before finishing. Please test the waters first before jumping in. Not only that, you're basically alone in a solo: you are the coordinator, and unless you have a very friendly DPL, you won't get much encouragement while doing your solo.

I have started Beyond the Vanishing Point in the Launch Pad!
I took the list in the original post, and checked the Librivox status of everything. Updated below to show those which are COMPLETE or IN PROGRESS. As time permits, I plan to scan the rest of the posts here.
Perhaps ChuckW would be willing to update the original post to remove some entries as indicated below (or I'd be happy to take over this list if Chuck has moved on to other things).
I see the list in the first post is basically current with suggestions from this thread, so I've cut my post to just highlight the ones already on Librivox:

So here's a bit of good news: several issues of Amazing Stories, the first regular science fiction magazine in America which launched in 1926, are now being digitized on HathiTrust. These would make excellent group projects!

There's one book on this list that I've been sitting on as a potential solo project for years now! Maybe you'll pick that one?

I think I have scans of all of the amazing that are pd. If they aren't on either hathi or IA I can post them to IA. Poke me if anything isn't available that you want.ChuckW wrote: ↑February 4th, 2022, 10:40 am So here's a bit of good news: several issues of Amazing Stories, the first regular science fiction magazine in America which launched in 1926, are now being digitized on HathiTrust. I've only looked at No. 1 and it had a Jules Verne that is on PG already - we have it in the catalogue so it may pay to check PG - it is much easier to read from their versions than a Haithi scan - thanks to all at PG.

Hi, I was looking at your list and noticed there weren't any of Victor Rousseau's works on it. He's produced several sci-fi that would be in the public domain now (several of them "lost world" type stories) although the only one I can actually find an e-book of is this one:
The Messiah of the Cylinder (1917)
http://archive.org/details/messiahofcylind00eman
It seems to be about a man who was placed in suspended animation for 100 years and wakes up to a dystopian society of some kind. I haven't read it yet so can't attest to the details though.

I've been reading Balladeer's Blog's series of articles covering "Ancient Science Fiction" and stumbled across a few titles that might be worth recording for Librivox. Adding the following to the list (and might be adding more as a plumb through the archives):
The Invisibles by Edgar Earl Christopher
Adrift in the Unknown by William Wallace Cook
Daybreak: A Romance of an Old World by James Cowan
Babylon Electrified by Albert Bleunard
The History of an Extinct Planet by Alfred Denton Cridge
The Log of the Flying Fish by Harry Collingwood
The Dominion in 1983 by Ralph Centennius
The Spider of Guyana by Emile Erckmann and Alexandre Chatrian
Across the Zodiac by Percy Greg
Discoveries in the Moon Lately Made at the Cape of Good Hope by Sir John Herschel
