I also found a better scan at Hathi Trust, if someone has credentials to download it and make it more available: https://babel.hathitrust.org/cgi/pt?id=mdp.39015000225410;view=1up;seq=15

I tried, but I can't download it.

Here is another one that may be of interest:

https://archive.org/stream/FinancialCrisisInquiryCommisionReport/Financial%20Crisis%20Inquiry%20Commision%20Report#page/n0/mode/2up

I skimmed it a bit and while it does have plenty of graphs and diagrams (which would/would not be read/it would depend on context?) there are surprisingly few tables (yay!) and it's mostly text that appears to have been written with an eye toward readability beyond purely government wonks. Kind of like the Starr or 9/11 reports that were expected to be of interest beyond the inner realms of the government.

Definitely an important document to consider doing at some point.

FYI, I'm preparing the human radiation experiments report for launch, after any of my current BC projects goes to catalog. (They're in my signature - hint hint...)

I've been looking at this one as a possible solo, but since I'm quite far behind on my current solo, I doubt I'll get to it any time soon. So I'll post it here as a suggestion for one of your group projects, Tricia:

Whom Shall We Welcome? Report of the President's Commission on Immigration and Naturalization (Published in 1953, but still timely)

This is an excellent suggestion! I'd read for this one! (Well, I'll probably read for anything selected that is at least 30 years old, but still...)

In setting up the immigration report, I went down a rabbit hole and found this Wikipedia page which lists the presidential commissions over the years:
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Presidential_Commission_(United_States)

In there, I was led to "Report of the Presidential Commission on the Space Shuttle Challenger Accident". We did Columbia but not Discovery. html: https://history.nasa.gov/rogersrep/genindex.htm or direct to PDF: https://forum.nasaspaceflight.com/index.php?PHPSESSID=n2pbop2fh60010n76lmcnh4po7&action=dlattach;topic=8535.0;attach=25186

There are other interesting items, too, like "Commission on Enhancing National Cybersecurity" (2016). it's short; reminds me of the one on policing. Direct PDF: https://www.nist.gov/sites/default/files/documents/2016/12/02/cybersecurity-commission-report-final-post.pdf

More to look at and drool over!

The link in the first post is broken for The Commission on Long-Term Care (2013) - I found this one: https://www.govinfo.gov/content/pkg/GPO-LTCCOMMISSION/pdf/GPO-LTCCOMMISSION.pdf
