I ordered the book via ILL. I don't always get a copy, but I usually do. A half an hour of copyright research, and a couple of scanning is all. Maybe another couple of hours getting the images prepped for DP. I'm doing this on lots of titles for DP anyway.ohsostrange wrote:That would be great! Thank you so much for this--I doubt I could ever have managed to find out if it was PD on my own. And you even found and scanned a first edition!! Damn. I don't work that hard at the job that pays me.gweeks wrote:PG has cleared "Greener than You Think" from a 1947 first edition. I still need to get the scans in shape, but this will be going to DP shortly.
Do you want to read from scans?

Let me know when you have gotten it as I'll want to delete it from there.

Planish has picked that one up to solo ... hooray.gweeks wrote:Planet of the Damned by Harry Harrison is at Project Gutenberg.
And thanks for Greener, Greg. Being able to request occasional gems is really cool, and of course if you particularly want something voiced in return, just post.
There's honestly no such thing as a stupid question -- but I'm afraid I can't rule out giving a stupid answer : : To Posterity and Beyond!
The biggest thing I wanted was the H. Beam Piper. That seems to be pretty much in hand. There is a fair pile of Randall Garrett on its way. I'd like to see some of that done as well. I expect most of it will be picked up once it comes through.Cori wrote: And thanks for Greener, Greg. I should mention that James Gunn is the latest Grand Master of Science Fiction. He got the award this year in March. I also think this is the only story of his in the public domain. He was quite thorough about renewing. The only reason this one is in the public domain is because Space Science Fiction didn't file their copyrights. He seemed kind of ticked at them still over that.gweeks wrote:James Gunn's Breaking Point is at PG now.

Since he seems to be alive best ask him if the PD work at Gutenberg inflates his sales.gweeks wrote: I should mention that James Gunn is the latest Grand Master of Science Fiction.
