Megda by forget-me-not (Emma Dunham Kelley).
Note: author died in 1938. However, I haven't found any etext which I am sure is in the public domain.
From skenning it for a while, I can tell you that this book is really amazing. It's written in a high level of english (not very high, don't let this deter you.) But it struck me that the contants is so very interesting. I really think this book deserves a collaborative recording. But if you want to take it as a solo, please do so. I will dpl anyway (if you want). I know three things about this book:
1. It starts in a school room.
2. It has to do with black and white people in the USA.
3. Part of the plot dealls with courtship.
Well, would you like to record it? Would you like to help me find a pd etext? Here is a link to an etext I found:

Love gothic novels? Try Children Of The Abbey. Like surprising mysteries? Try The Amathist Cross. Looking for an easy read? Try Harriet's Choice.
