I've started reading this a couple of times but I'm too lazy to get through it in print. Anyone want to take a stab at it so I can actually finish it?

Here's the text: http://books.google.com/books?id=jLA8AAAAYAAJ&printsec=frontcover&dq=real+charlotte&source=bl&ots=Gv-4ezTNvJ&sig=FyZeN7EwEdVeYSN3WrOKXRu7dYQ&hl=en&ei=xj4MTPDPFcP68Aa1uNFn&sa=X&oi=book_result&ct=result&resnum=7&ved=0CD8Q6AEwBg#v=onepage&q&f=false

And the book at Amazon : http://www.amazon.com/Real-Charlotte-Edith-Enone-Somerville/dp/1150939435/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&s=books&qid=1275871122&sr=1-1

It's supposed to be very funny, and at least someone named it the best Irish novel of the 19th Century.

[link edited by admin to make it work - but presumably only for US readers as I cannot see the whole book]

This does look like an entertaining book! It has since made its way to Project Gutenberg as well:

https://www.gutenberg.org/ebooks/59138

PG has 14 works by Somerville and Ross (AKA E. Oe. Somerville), of which just one has been recorded for Librivox, Some Experiences of an Irish R.M. ( https://librivox.org/some-experiences-of-an-irish-rm-by-edith-oenone-somerville-and-martin-ross/ ). Among the other works at PG, there is a sequel to this book called Further Experiences of an Irish R.M.

Here's a link to the author page for E. Oe. Somerville:
