Thread in Spanish

Hello,
I would like to suggest that a thread for book suggestions in Spanish be included with the ones already posted here. I posted a suggestion myself a few days ago but I see that it has been deleted. Is there a problem with recording books in Spanish? I know there are quite a few available in the public domain.
Thanks.
Marian M.

Hi Marian,
Books in Spanish are very welcome. Everything here is done by volunteers - so if you like to start a thread about book suggestions in Spanish that would be great! That is the way the other threads got started in the beginning as well - just someone starting up the discussion. (I don't know any Spanish, so that would not make any sense :))

Or did you mean that there already is a suggestions thread about Spanish books, which could be added to the post above? Let me know the link and I can add it!
Regards,
Anna

Hello Anna,

What I actually posted was a reply to ezwa's post (the one that includes the URLs of the various existing threads in languages other than English). I didn't see a corresponding thread in Spanish, so I sent in my suggestion. Though it has disappeared as a reply to ezwa's post, I see now that it appears in another place as a new thread. So please excuse me, I'm very very sorry, I thought it had just been deleted. Me and my big mouth!!!! I hope other people will take an interest in the thread, it seems to me there are not many Spanish speaking persons around.

This is the URL of my post. Would it be possible to include it in ezwa's collection, so that people will find it more easily if it is grouped together with the others?

Thanks very much for your interest!
Best regards.

Hi Marian,
Sure - you know, it would be a good thing to change the title of your thread into something more general, like "Suggestions of Books in Spanish" (but then in Spanish of course :)) - and you can then suggest that particular book in the first post. That would attract more people, I think, and might start up some discussion. It would also fit more in the list mentioned above - those are all threads of diverse books in one language. And you might get some other suggestions as well!
Anna

EDIT: I've added the link!

Thanks, Anna. Your suggestions are excellent. I've edited my old post to fit in with them. I'm a newbie here and don't really know how some things work. I've re-written the post in Spanish. As you point out, that will probably attract more readers, and hopefully some discussion and more suggestions. Thank you for adding the link!
Best regards.

Japanese Books

Hi! I am very new here. Since I am learning Japanese (to teach back to my son), I am wondering if there is a thread for Japanese stories or poems or whatever... in Japanese. If not, can I help to create one? :D

Thanks so much!

Our catalog is sadly lacking in all things Japanese. I found only two recordings:

http://librivox.org/oku-no-hosomichi-by-matsuo-bash%C5%8D/
http://librivox.org/ogura-hyakunin-isshu-by-fujiwara-no-teika/

and a poem here:

There are also fairy tales in English translation:

Neither do we appear to have anyone currently recording in Japanese. :(

Hi Scribe,

There are no current projects (being worked on, I mean) in Japanese, but there are two completed audiobooks:-

http://librivox.org/oku-no-hosomichi-by-matsuo-bash%C5%8D/
http://librivox.org/ogura-hyakunin-isshu-by-fujiwara-no-teika/

You'll love both of these.... Great just to hear the language beautifully read.

(These from a catalogue search selecting Japanese as the language).

In fact, it was a link to the Bashou audiobook that brought me to LibriVox, when I was studying Japanese three years ago. I'm not studying any more, but I'm still here! :D

Thank you for the suggestions

Thanks for all the great suggestions!

When I searched the catalog, I searched on the keyword "Japanese" not the language. Doh!

At least there are a few and with luck (and lots of practice), maybe I can add to them. :D

Now to pick some short English works to get a feel for how this is done! Would be good to know if my voice is good for this sorta thing first.

And Italian books :)?

Hello everybody!!
Can I add a book suggestion section for italian books? It seems to miss :D !!

Edit: I've found this topic for the italian books..now I'm waiting for an answer :)!

Welcome, Piccolamimi!

I've added the Italian thread to the list up here.

I've only found one Italian work in progress. All sections have been assigned but somme may be orphaned at some point, the reader not being able to complete it for some reason.

I see you found your way to the multilingual poetry collection.

Have fun! :-)

Thanks!

Thanks ezwa for the answer!

A little while ago, I post in the only topic that you have found (in progress) to ask if they need some help to conclude and close the project and, at the same time, I'm attending to know if I can recorded the "novella" for the multilingual short stories collection ;)!

Thanks a lot for your help ^^!

There's also Il giornalino di Gian Burrasca by Vamba ... that was being done as a solo, but we've not heard from the soloist in almost a year. I'll drop them an email to see how things are going and whether we can convert that to a collaborative too.
