Once I finish one of my solos I'll start looking for Tagalog NT text. I've been planning on doing it actually.. :)

We had one at home - I'm not sure all of it and I don't know who has it now - but my Grandfather translated/organised the translation for the British and Foreign Bible Society about 1900.

If you don't have a native Tagalog speaker to PL it for you, I'll volunteer. I can't read with a good enough accent, but I can check what I hear. Thanks!

I'm not sure yet if this has been suggested - but I would like to put forward the German language version of Moni, the Goat-boy (which you have here: http://librivox.org/moni-the-goat-boy-by-johanna-spyri/). I have the PG e-text in German (Moni der Geißbub) on my android tablet, and I'm thoroughly enjoying it, and I think it would be a wonderful read to have in German alongside our English version.

Welcome to Librivox Sunanda,

It's great that you have come with ideas of what you would like to read. But first, please check out the links in your welcome e-mail.
The wiki and Phil's videos will tell and show you exactly how to get started, and plenty more besides.

We strongly recommend doing the one minute test before you go any further, not an auditon,
but to check that the technical aspect of your set-up is in accordance with Librivox requirements.

Then it is advisable to complete a few short works - chapters in group projects, poems, roles in dramatic works,
so that you have a good understanding of the recording and editing processes.

Once you take on a solo project you have more responsibility, so it is useful to know what is involved.

Have fun

There are quite a lot of great novels in Persian. These two would be good places to start:

1. Boof e Koor (The Blind Owl) by Sadegh Hedayat
2. Sanfoni e Mordegan (The Symphony of the Dead) by Abbas Maroufi

Bear in mind that everything we record needs to be in the Public Domain in the USA. Effectively, this means published in 1922 or earlier. I think Sadegh Hedayat's works were published from 1930 onwards, and Abbas Maroufi was only born in 1957, so unfortunately these will not be possible for us to record here.

Hi.

I would like to record four of H.P. Lovecraft's short stories I got in Slovak language. These are:

> The Haunter Of The Dark
> The Call of Cthulhu
> The Rats In The Walls
> The Colour Out of Space

Since this would be my first recording for LV, I thought I rather ask if it's OK, and I would like to know if I should post it as a collection (as they are all in one book) or as a separate short stories. Thanks.

The critical factor will be whether the translations are in the Public Domain in the USA, and I'm sorry, but I think it is virtually impossible that they will be. Translations attract a new copyright, you see, and everything recorded for LibriVox must be in the Public Domain in the US where our files are stored.

Without going into all the gory details, the only reason that some of Lovecraft's stories are in the Public Domain in the original English, is because they were published in the USA and copyright was not renewed. Non-renewal of US copyright does not apply to any works published outside the USA, which is why I am almost certain that any translations of his stories will remain in copyright. Works published outside the USA almost invariably must have been published before 1923.

I'm sorry. :(

I'd be interested in doing this as a solo. I sent a pm to TribalElder asking whether s/he wanted to do this as a solo, but am still waiting for a reply. I thought I'd stake a claim here, though. ;)

Hi there
I am new to Libravox. My main reason for volunteering is that I found out that very rare ARABIC books are posted. I'd like to encourage the idea to read Arabic books. I can read. I suppose that It would be hard to find a whole team for the process. Could anyone help? I can make suggestions and read. I can edit. I jsut need to know how the process goes on.

Hi,

Can I start recording books in Vietnamese? I don't see any Vietnamese books in the list and I am really interested in doing some.
Also is possible if I record books published after 1923 because the copyright rule in Vietnam is Life+50? Thank you.

Best,
Anh Nguyen
