Re: 'Thank You' messages for LibriVox readers - continued

What a wonderful message -- thanks so much to Ruth, and to all others who have posted such nice things on this forum thread. It is very, very much appreciated. (And, Ruth: Good luck in college; I hope you do end up joining the LV community and recording a book or two someday!)--Stewart Praise for ah...

In addition to what I'm signed up for, I'll edit section 54 (scene 23) and section 55 (scene 24).

Also, if possible, I'd like to claim section 32 (scene 01) and section 52 (scene 21) when they become available.

Edit of scene 11 posted: http://upload.librivox.org/share/uploads/ge/faust_sc11_goethe.mp3 File duration: 03:09 Gesine: If possible, I'd like some feedback before doing the next edit, to make sure that your satisfied with what I've done. (I opted for the "name the characters only once" app...

Just a quick thank-you to Anita N. for her kind post on "Moby Dick" on the other "thank you" thread -- and to Ruth for posting it.

Best wishes,
Stewart

Gesine, Roz or I could also try doing the tweaking of the speed during the editing, if Ana still wanted to try reading the part but was put off by the extra tech work. Best, Stewart Oh - here's one thing you could try: there's a way to speed recordings up electronically. I think it's an option in Au...

Gesine, you can add me as an editor on this project, as I think it says on page one that you need more editors (and I don't want my daughter, timberwolfmage, to have to edit *all* of it . . . ).

Well, I must *really* not want to do the "real" work I'm supposed to be doing today, 'cause I went ahead and created the MP3s for section 08 and uploaded them to the LV server, as you requested. It didn't take as long as I thought it would. Here are the addresses: http://upload.librivox.or...

Stewart, may I ask you a favour - would you re-upload all your previous files (except scene 1, which I've already done) to the LV server as .mp3s, and using these file names: faust_08_scXX_faust.mp3 where XX is the scene number in two Arabic digits. This would be a great help. Gesine, I'll be happy...

Scene 21 for the character Faust is posted here: http://www.specksynder.com/librivox/ahab/faust/faust_21_faust.mp3 (MP3, 7.3 MB) http://www.specksynder.com/librivox/ahab/faust/faust_21_faust.wav (WAV, 40.3 MB) I know that you specified MP3, but since this is being stored on my own server (and since ...

Private message issue on Forum

Don't know if this is the right place to log this, but on two recent occasions (1/27/2010 and 2/7/2010), I received e-mail telling me I had a new private message, but when I follow the link to the PM board I don't see anything more recent than 11/14/2009. Has anyone else had this experience? (Perhap...

timberwolfmage: Thanks for the ping. All: Thanks for your patience -- I am going to try to do scene 21 (and finish my part) next weekend. I was just waiting to see how the song with "alternating singing" would be handled. Based on Ransom's recording of WOTW, I'm assuming that I should just...

Stewart, I've just realised we haven't got the "concering so-and-so" as part of the track names. I'd suggest we add them, as they are part of the title of each piece; it's easy enough for me to do in the validator (a 2-minute job to do all the files), unless you violently disagree....? ED...
