Re: Finding quiet space

No need to give up. There's always a way! Did you try one of those dynamic/directional/radio mics? I seem to remember wehn I was reading around that they are designed to pick up much less ambient noise than a condenser/studio mic. In one of Phil's instructional videos he mentions he has to record in...

Re: Catalogue search: How to do a search based on BC

I can't login to
https://librivox.org/projects/2607

The search site works for me but as you say not very user friendly if there are a lot of works to sort through.

copyright for non-US

Something is troubling me. Some works are said to be off limits to non-US readers here. But does this copyright restriction in law apply to the country of the readers or to the country of the performance? The final performance for the public is held on Lbrivox servers in the US and the works are off...

Catalogue search: How to do a search based on BC

If I find a drama that I particularly like the production of, how can I search for more dramas by the same BC?

Sorry for all the questions. I've found a little time for Librivox today!

[SOLVED] How to send PM

I sent message by clicking under someone's post.
In my control panel, 'outbox' shows 1 message, recipient name and sent date.
But 'sent messages' shows none.
Do I have to do something else to send message from outbox? :hmm:

Re: Why don’t more people read in the dramatic forum?

The dramatic forum is not so easy to navigate. I've spent a lot of time browsing & reading here to find a first small part. It's not time efficient. I wish the parts were clearly marked as female/male, even when it's obvious. This would just help you to scan the MW when your eyes are tired. And ...

ok then! But is it fair to the mic? Not all meteors hum.

BTW just for fun i'm experimenting with a cheapo dictaphone. Do you want that? :)

Re: Samson's Meteor mic - best setup?

Algy, I've bookmarked that link. Useful!

Unfortunately I can't submit a raw unprocessed file using this mic because it needs notch filter applied to remove the hum in order to be acceptable.

Re: Samson's Meteor mic - best setup?

Ruth, I bought it 2013 from Amazon so it's out of warranty I'm guessing.

Plenty troubles with this mic if the reviews are to be trusted. It seems to start failing after a few months to a year. I didn't use it much at all. It will have to do for now until I can find something more reliable.
