Monetary donations to Librivox.org, and to narrators

Question/suggestion 1: Does Librivox accept monetary donations? I'm glad they're not solicited, but I should note that this is one of the first sites that pops to mind when I think about donating to one. Anyway, if so, I suggest instructions on the FAQ about it. If not, I'd recommend mentioning it o...

I agree! Try Karen's Scarlet Pimpernel. It's wonderful, as is everything else she's read :) I agree. Karen Savage does exceedingly well. I just finished her rendition of The Scarlet Pimpernel this afternoon. It was nice. She's quite good with doing a variety of accents and moods without seeming to ...

But yes, it would be helpful - we're aware that the catalogue is far from perfect in its user-friendliness, and there has been discussion about improving it, so the answer to 'will there ever be...?' is, I hope, yes! I don't know - that's to search by author, rather than to browse by author - i.e. you have to know who you're looking for. We don't have an accessible list of authors (with just one - clickable - entry for each, rather than, say, pages of 'Aesop'), do we? Lushnam, I think that's what you're suggest...

One that particularly impressed me was The Railway Children, by E. Nesbit (as read by Karen Savage). It's awesome. The only con is that the volume and sound quality isn't consistent on every file. However, the actual narrating is what I mean. She does well.

Browse by author

Will there ever be an option to browse by author (with a single entry for each author so that you don't have to see all of everyone's works on the author list)? I know you can browse by [authors with the title's listed] already. Each author entry would link to a list of its works. Anyway, this optio...

More objective criteria

I can understand the need, but it might be difficult. Two sorts of criteria: objective and subjective. Examples: Objective: background noise, volume. Here are a few more objective things to consider for search criteria: • age group of reader at time of recording • gender of reader • pitch (high or ...
