Thank you. That's one of my suspicions. The Samson website lists my microphone as being compatible with my iPad with just the use of the lightning to camera adapter. I also tried using a powered USB hub like the website you linked to instructed (I had seen it before), but it still didn't work.

Anyway, the problem that had to be fixed had to to with Project Gutenberg mirrors. Internet Archive also made changes that affected my retroLV site.
