Why is the 1911 version a classic? Was it in a cooler type face than the 1910 or 1912 editions?

And do the editions even come out every year? Man, that would suck if they did, especially for the editors. O.o

Lost vioce problems

I'm not sure if anyone else has run into this, but has anyone else actually lost their voice while recording? I'm part way through chapter 2 of Kim (I'm still doing the editing for chapter 1, the thing was so long that I just wanted the track layed down), and I've, umm, well, lost my voice. O.o (So ...

Actually, I think I found the pattern I want to use, I just have to get down to a store to get the right weight of yarn: http://www.frugalhaus.com/homepage/accentpl.htm I figure that a nice set of those (they're REALLY super easy to make, I just tried with some other yarn just to see whether it woul...

Does anyone know of a good, simple pattern to make something pretty that can be given as a wedding gift? A friend of mine just announced that he's getting married, and I really want to send him something hand knitted. (That, and hand knitted things are generally cheaper than store bought things. ^.^...

I remember, back in my AP class in high school, convincing our sub (who had her Masters in English Lit) that the Grapes of Wrath was all about a turtle.

You should never leave a n00b sub alone with an AP English class for 90 minutes, bad things will always happen to them.

Oh the egg carton thing is no myth at all. I've worked in professional studios where they lined the walls with them. Unfortunately almost all egg cartons are now made of thin styrofoam which just doesn't have the same acoustic properties as the old pressboard ones. Organic eggs are cartoned in pres...

No, I heard that Apple planned to sell OSX for regular PC's as well, as an option instead of WInXP. Of course, I heard this from a Linux Guru who might have been refering to a guy named Apple that was planning on releasing OSX for PC's on a torrent or something... I always wonder about those Linux p...

Okay, so the Macs are just switching over to the same processor chips as PC's use?

That explains the rumors of the PC version of OSX I've been hearing and drooling over as well. ^.^

Of course, as a poor college student, I'll probably be panhandleing for a free copy outside of the Mac Store.

Yay! I just finished my first sock! ^.^

What's a Kitchner stitch? Because it said to finish with a kitchner stitch, but I didn't know what that was so I just finished with an old fashioned crochet stitch on the inside.
