Re: Volume changing
If you're not willing to buy a new one yet (which you can do for 20-30 US), perhaps a friend might be willing to lend you one? Not so much that I'm not willing... I already spent my spending money, and my wife would not let me spend hers :D I guess I'll just have to do really good at the poker tabl...

Volume changing
ok... I'm recording my first part, and I don't like it! I'm using Audacity, and the volume seems to auto-adjust based on the volume input. I can't figure out how to tell it to stop that. I start it at a good volume, then as I read it goes up and down. It sounds awful! I've tried various things, but ...

Portland
Shurtagal,
I see someone already answered you.
What part of Portland are you in? I live in North Portland (Kenton area), and I work at Portland State University (soon to be a student at PSU instead).

I've read through the Newbie Guide, and have done sound recordings (started playing with editing sound back in '89, I think... But it has been a while since I've done anything.) I hope to get up to speed pretty quick, and this is such a short part that if I screw something up, I can re-record it qui...

Thanks for the warm welcome all. Can't say I'll do much for a while, but it is a cool project, so I thought I'd join in. I'm starting a masters program in Education this fall, so for the next 2 years, most of my time is booked. But I have a little time until then. I also have a 17 month old daughter...

It's Vlooi's fault (is that her nick over here?). I've been involved with DP for a few years now, and Vlooi sent me a few of her Librovox recordings over the last couple years (since my daughter joined our lives) and I thought it was cool (her accent is great to listen to) So I've downloaded a few o...
