Very sad news: Michael Hart, founder of Project Gutenberg (where most LibriVox texts come from), and the inventor of the ebook died this week.

Audible problem solved: I just spoke with Audible: they don't want LV content in Audible, because their customers get annoyed when they pay for it, and then find they could have gotten it for free. ah, excellent. sorry for my confusion...It is possible to do that (it's called an Average Voice Model) but the voices we have used publicly so far are actually individual voices, and you might be able to recognize the readers.

my understanding of the post at the top of this thread is that many LibriVox recordings would be analyzed, combined, played with etc, so that composite audio profiles can be used to generate more human-sounding synthetic voices.
