Nor was I finished with the previous post.
What can I say? Laugh AND cry!
Anyway ... I'm working on setting up for recording... and very (oh so very) much look forward to helping with more PL-ing.

Re: [GROUP] A Key To Uncle Tom's Cabin, by Harriet Beecher Stowe - dc
it is my true pleasure to PL for you, Michele. I've had a tough time setting up the mic and speaker on the computer system and fixing sound on Audacity is taking much longer than I had anticipated. There is also an issue with sound going soft, to medium, to "Get These Headphones Off Me Now"...

test_burgundygrace.mp3 Hello! This passed the checker software, for which I am thankful; it's a great program, and most quickly helped me get this file in even any kind of acceptable form. I do note that the sound starts off softly and then picks up and then increases to an uncomfortable level to he...

Re: [GROUP] A Key To Uncle Tom's Cabin, by Harriet Beecher Stowe - dc
Just to say: I'm still here, I've not run away. I'm having quite the difficult time setting the volume. Simply setting up Audacity and other settings have heretofore taken me about 8 hours. That's USING the help files and youtube videos.  Ahhh, I shall persist in this tech endeavor,...

Re: [GROUP] A Key To Uncle Tom's Cabin, by Harriet Beecher Stowe - dc
I apologize for the confusion and difficulty. In reality, it doesn't matter to me by which name(s) I'll be known here Please let us do what is easiest; those who wish to find me and my work always do, so most effective for the site's purpose is most pleasing to me. Sincere to regards to all, ~Angeli...

Re: [GROUP] A Key To Uncle Tom's Cabin, by Harriet Beecher Stowe - dc
Section 19 PL:
10:32 Skipped saying "1834"
20:58 Said "batches" instead of "watches" (while noting that as there is no change in essential meaning, it may not be of importance to edit.)
I greatly enjoyed, especially, your use of dialect in Legree's quote!

Re: [GROUP] A Key To Uncle Tom's Cabin, by Harriet Beecher Stowe - dc
Thank you for the clarification; I did understand.
Still, on reflection, I'll use Angelique G. Campbell as the username; there's a far-reaching possibility the site itself may get more hit counts by so doing, and that's of greatest value.

 I've been given so many names, that "actual" seemed to be best. But, yes, of course, you make a valid point. I'm Angelique Campbell and so shall include in the recording. Ohhhh, unless I've technical difficulties, I'll complete projects before two months. Otherwise, I'll wander...

Thank you; I'll be truly pleased to receive your guidance in editing, as well as any constructive criticism you may have. :) I'll soon view the videos for tech specifics, and note other help files, too. It has been a very busy week, but I WILL focus on these projects on the weekend and through next ...

Re: [GROUP] A Key To Uncle Tom's Cabin, by Harriet Beecher Stowe - dc
May I record section 5, 1.5 – "Eliza" as my first recording for Librivox?
As it's short, hopefully I can learn the intricacies of Audacity without terribly taxing the PL in providing suggestions for corrections.

Re: [GROUP] A Key To Uncle Tom's Cabin, by Harriet Beecher Stowe - dc
Thank you for the tip; I copy/paste to myself in email for future reference. (And perhaps I shall even be able to find it later! :hmm: ) Yes, this is a very clean edit; I don't note any splice at all! I recorded several works and posted them on Youtube before rememberig this site. (Unfortunately, th...
