We did a dramatic reading a few years ago of some extremely explicit 19th century erotica called Kate Percival, Belle of the Delaware. Let's just say it's one that I do not advertise on my personal website, but some enthusiastic fans have found me anyway to, um, express their admiration. :shock:

The hardest word to say in the English language is "clasped." It is like three syllables mushed into one, and the s and p make two sounds that are impossible to say next to each other. The word comes up a LOT in the Anne of Green Gables books.

My instinct is to say no, since we don't read illustration captions and I'd put that kind of parenthetical in that category. I'm certainly not married to that position, though, if anyone feels strongly the other way.

I just had a look at the Gutenberg version and I'm confident it's the same text and 1918 edition, as the illustrations are the same,...
