Part 4, Section 1 is uploaded here for review. My earphones broke, so I couldn't check for the pops as closely as I would have liked to.

Praise for Bridget Gaige and The Pearl of Orr's Island
Having finished listening to Uncle Tom's Cabin and googling the author for other writings, I was delighted to discover Harriet Beecher Stowe has written many other things, some recorded on Librivox. I just finished listening to The Pearl of Oor's Island , read by Bridget Gaige, whose crisp northern ...

Re:
Thank you gloriana for your fantastic reading of Incidents in the Life of a Slave Girl by Harriet Jacobs . You really made me think you were Harriet, displaying just the right level of emotion. Through you I could feel Harriet's anguish at being separated from her children and her delight in being ...

Find Correct Pronunciation of Unfamiliar words
Just found this really cool website that SPEAKS the correct pronunciation of any English word you type in: http://www.howjsay.com/index.php I couldn’t figure out how to pronounce “treacle” in what I just recorded, so I looked it up. Very useful! Having noticed a few mispronounced words in the books ...

A weird thing happened upon uploading: it said it had to rename it as a file by that name had already been uploaded! But it shows as available on the Magic Window.

Praise for Elizabeth Klett
Just completed reading The Awakening , by Kate Chopin, which takes place in Grand Isle and New Orleans in the late 1800’s, both locations near where I live and familiar to me. Well-to-do women back then didn’t have much to do, were pretty much considered property by their husbands, and their lives w...

Clarification: Reading the text, I presume DISTANT CRIES and THE PEOPLE are the same, and that THE THIRD DAY is what you mean by Act III? If so, I'll take on recording one of THE PEOPLE/VOICES

Re: [OPEN] [DRAMA] Persuasion by Jane Austen - tg
I'm looking for something good to read and found a few pieces not yet assigned in this project, but I can't figure out how these assignments go. Are they chapters, or voices? If voices, how do we record and submit them? Please explain. Thanks

Praise for rachelellen
I just completed Silas Marner read by rachelellen. I was made to read this book in high school some 50 years ago, and was curious on the reason, and still am not sure what my teachers' motives might have been. But it certainly captures a long gone pastoral life style that I still think on fondly and...
