For anyone using Audacity - at step 2 you can quickly and roughly select a region to be deleted, then hit Z. That command automatically moves the adges of the selected area to the nearest zero crossing points, saving you the trouble of adjusting them manually.

It would probably be worth Harry recording the couple of questions that are buried in the middle of the stage directions on page 17:

"Who is that? Is anyone there?"

Did you find anything in your Autohotkeys setup? And did the problem go away when you tried switching that off?

Given the things you've checked, and the fact that something is causing Audacity to act in a non-standard way (going to the start of track rather than highlighting the whole track), my money is on Autohotkeys. Perhaps you have some global double-click setting in there which Audacity can't understand...

I was hoping to volunteer for Household God and narrator.

I was wondering whether the Household God might be read by the narrator, but I see you have that role down for Kitty. Is that intended? You don't have her listed against Staphyla, Act 1
