Hi everyone,
You probably don't even remember me, it's been so long. But I have just finished my PhD., and now I plan to finally finish The Song of the Lark. Unfortunately it had to go in that order.
I hope everyone is well and I look forward to getting back involved again.
Erin

thanks a lot all. there were a lot of useful comments and observations! Now that it's Monday and we're all back at work looking to kill time, if anyone else would be willing to do the survey that would be great, as I only need a few more people. It has to be finished up very, very shortly so don't w...

oh they do make sense. the ones you commented on are very unpopular, so I am extra familiar with them. but seriously thanks a lot for taking the trouble to mention it. I did not know about that problem. It looks like it never did the really bad thing of using the answer for one question as the answe...

you're happier not knowing, trust me. :) but if you are interested in what the survey is about, wikipedia has a decent explanation: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Scalar_implicature if you're going to do the survey, don't look at that first though! p.s. someone pointed out that some of the questions c...

back! if only for a moment (and a request)
Hi guys, I'm sorry to have completely vanished on you. I'm hoping to get back involved soon. Between moving across the country and various work in my last year of my phd, I haven't done anything enjoyable in months. In the spirit of things that are not very enjoyable, I am looking for people to do a...

Hi there, I agree with stav that a pretty consistent volume throughout is best. But I don't know if you have to re-record it, you might just be able to raise the level in garageband. I only know how to do it in audacity. I thought 23 was a little soft too, now that we bring it up, but again don't re...

Hi Nadine, At first I had a very hard time hearing the hum, and I don't think most people would hear it if they weren't listening for it. But because I'm bored today, I fooled around with the EQ a bit, and it sounds to me like you can reduce it by basically cutting off all frequencies below 100, and...

my husband read the book and wants to see this, but I understand there's a cat involved and I can't watch a movie where a cat gets hurt or worse. And he claims not to remember what happened to the cat. So if someone could tell me whether the cat suffers at all I would really appreciate it. :) (Don't...
