Re: GROUP: The Adventures of Tom Sawyer by Mark Twain - philc

Hey would you change the link to the text to be the main page for that book? It's kinda irritating to be sent to the html version if a reader wants plaintext or kindle. And the database should have the main page listed, not the html page. This is the correct url: http://www.gutenberg.org/ebooks/74 T...

Re: Can I use my phone to record?

Twisted Wave has a very nice user interface and is fun to use, especially on an iPad! Very intuitive. I've done some tests and I'd say the recording quality is no worse than an inexpensive USB mic, so certainly good enough. I'll submit a poem pretty soon and post the link here.

Re: Can I use my phone to record?

Checking in to say that this is still in progress. It has been a rough year but I feel like I might have the energy to record a chapter sometime soon, fingers crossed :)

Re: Need recording advice from seasoned readers

I don't do much editing, so it's a lot faster for me. I guess around 1.5 hours of editing for a 1-hour recording. Maybe 2 hours if it's a really complicated text and I make a ton of errors. When I make an error while recording, I snap my fingers to leave a big spike in the recording, then re-read th...

And please make it very clear to your users that your app is not a LibriVox creation, and that they must ask YOU for help and support, not us. Thank you!

(We get a lot of tech support/complaint email about problems with the many apps out there)

I am the admin she spoke to. In her intro email she mentioned that she would like to have our code on github. My reply was this: Great! Yeah, there has been discussion in the admin forum about putting the code on github. I don't know what became of that plan -- not my area of expertise! If you post ...
