How exactly does that work? I really wanted to record two of Ring Lardner's stories - but one was published in 1926, the other in 1928. I was thinking today that there sould be a steady stream of works entering PD. Am I wrong?

I'd like to do #12 - part 2, Chapter 5.

I was able to raise the mic vloume on the computer itself, but on the edit>preferences menu I only get a choice between Soundmax and Microsoft Mapper Output. I have a Dell desktop. The mic is a "Manhattan desktop boom."
I managed to raise the input volume, but when I playback I don't get any indication that there was any sound - just flat, no bumps.
